Making Masks to Enjoy Peking Opera Art
Friday 15,2016
On April 7th, IEC Chinese training department held the culture activity named “Making Masks to Enjoy Peking Opera Art”.

Before the activity, Ms. Li Yanan introduced the development of Pecking Opera, origins of Pecking Opera masks, and relations between colors and the personality each color represents. International students were impressed by the charm of the quintessence of Chinese culture.

After the teacher’s instruction, students started to make and decorate their own masks.

Both Peking Opera and Peking Opera masks are the essence of profound Chinese culture. This culture activity could make international students get a deeper understanding of Chinese culture with hands-on experience. IEC will regularly hold this kind of activity to better involve students in learning.
