The First Student Group from Sri Lanka Campus Visited DMU

The group of 12 student representatives from Sri Lanka campus visited DMU from June 24th to July 3rd. As the first representatives chosen by DMU overseas campus, they received warm welcome.
On June 25th, students visited DMU Exhibition Hall, Marine Engine Simulator, Based on-land Engine Room, Western Library, etc. With teachers’ introduction, students got a overall understanding of DMU history, development, and featured majors.

On June 26th , students took classes of traditional Chinese culture on the 3rd floor of ISEC. While taking an hands-on experience, they were impressed by the charm of Chinese calligraphy and traditional painting.

Guided by teachers, on June 27th, students boarded Ship Yukun and communicated with interns.

In order to make students have a better understanding of Dalian, from June 28th to 29th DMU arranged for them a city tour including the visit to Lvshun Museum, Exhibition Hall of the Site of Lvshun Prison, Xinghai Square, Laohutan Resort, the seaside road, and Donggang Business District.

Together with all graduates at DMU, students attended DMU graduation ceremony held on June 30th . Speeches adressed by President Sun Yuqing and the international student representative encouraged them and left them a deep impression.

The ten-day visit ended after the closing ceremony on July 2nd . Ms. Peng Xuefei, deputy-director of ISEC, awarded students the study certificate and DMU-featured presents, hoping that they enjoyed this visit and more students from Sri Lanka campus would come here in the future. At last, the student representative Pabasara Kalahe, expressed gratitude for the thoughtful arrangement during these days; also she said after coming back they would introduce DMU to other peers, and would study harder to live up to the expectations of DMU.
