In year 2020, the unexpected COVID-19 brought a great challenge to all staff and students of DMU. While taking strict measures to tackle the pandemic, teachers and students of International Students’Education Center (ISEC) have been actively fighting against the difficulty, and utilizing online platforms to continue work and study, reducing the impact of pandemic to the lowest. Although our international students around the world can not return to school currently, they never stopped making progress and concerning about school. Although we can not contact each other physically, our study enthusiasm and courage never reduce. Under the guidance of ISEC and active organizing of International Students Academic Association (ISAA), International Students Online Academic Experience Sharing Meetings were successfully held on May 26thand 27th.
Utilizing online communication platform, 5 sharing meetings were held respectively. Postdoctoral researcher Dr. GAMASSA PASCAL KANY PRUD'OME, postgraduate students with outstanding academic achievements including BUTT M JAHANZEB, ARSLAN MUHAMMAD, BAAH CHARLES, and DOAN THI PHUONG THAO, shared they academic experience in aspects of“Describing life with covid19 and study”“Cooping with stress, how to act normal”“Find more activities online””Reading a journal article””How to write a good thesis&How toimprove Chinese levelfast”.
The activities received great attention and response from international students, with more than 90 person times participating. They shared information, discussed about study, paper and research issues, and emphasized that, facing the pandemic, we should build up confidence, enhance mutual help, stay strong to combat difficulty together.
The activity not only provided opportunities for international students to strengthen communication and mutual study, relieve pressure and doubts during the past period, but also helped ISEC to gain new aspects and ideas. With the inspiration from the meetings, ISEC will continuously take more measures and steps to improve working ability and education quality.
