To further implement spirit of letter to international students of Peking University from president Xi Jinping, to continuously enhance quality of international students education, and to recognize units and personnel that made great contributions to international student work and cultural exchange between China and abroad, the Education Department of Liaoning Province started prize evaluation work from September 2021. After recommendation from universities and institutions around the province, and careful evaluation and discussion by related experts and managers, the final result was recently issued. 2 DMU international students MASSAMBA-COURTOIS JOANES BENEDICTE and TURSUNOVA MUQADDAS were issued“Outstanding International student”award because of their excellent performance both in academic field and their contribution to international student work.
The award was an recognition and encouragement to DMU international students as well as ISEC, which made an fruitful ending to year 2021. We hope all DMU international students continue learn from each other, forge ahead together and make more achievements in the coming 2022.
Brief introduction of prize winners:
MASSAMBA-COURTOIS JOANES BENEDICTE, fromThe Republic of Congo, is currently a 2019 batch PhD student on Environmental Science and Engineering major. She was issued bachelor’s degree on Marine Science from DMU in July 2016 and master’s degree on Marine Chemistry from DMU in July 2019. Under the support by Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship, she started PhD program study in DMU since September 2019 and her supervisor is Prof. Song Chengwen.
MASSAMBA-COURTOIS JOANES BENEDICTE studies very hard, love Chinese culture, and has advanced level in Chinese language and professional research. She’s always happy to help other international students to solve their problems in study lives and receives widely praise from international students and staff members. As a bridge of communication between international students and school, she’s made great contributions to international students work and cultural exchanges of DMU.
MASSAMBA-COURTOIS JOANES BENEDICTE was issued several awards during Chinese competition both in and out of school. In year 2021, She was invited to attend Global Sustainable Transport Talent (GSTT) Training Program byTransport Management Institute of Ministry of Transportand was interviewed by major medium CGTN etc. She won the 1stprize in My Story with China Transport Essay Competition and was issued 1stprize of Outstanding Performance Award of International Students by school.

TURSUNOVA MUQADDAS, from The Republic of Tajikistan, is currently a 2019 batch master’s degree student on Software Engineering major and her supervisor is Prof. Zhang Dezhen.
TURSUNOVA MUQADDAS performs well at school, studies hard and has achieved good progress in academic field.While focusing on study, she has actively participated in various kinds of activities and practice organized by school, making great contributions to promoting Study in DMU and cultural exchanges.
