Dalian Maritime University (DMU) was enrolled in the first batch of institutions under Chinese Government Scholarship Program in 1955. As one of the largest and best maritime universities and the only key maritime institution under the Ministry of Transport, China, DMU was entrusted by China
Scholarship Council and Liaoning Provincial Government to conduct independent recruitment of
scholarship students since 2008. Up to now, hundreds of international students under this scholarship
from all over the world have been educated at DMU. 
Apart from the full scholarships, DMU also provides self-funded students with Dalian Government
Scholarship and DMU Scholarships as partial scholarships.

In order to enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and the other countries, and to develop exchanges and cooperation, especially to train excellent talents in the transportation industry for the other countries, Dalian Maritime University recruits full-time Chinese GovernmentUniversity PostgraduateScholarship students from the foreign countries.


I.Recruitment Target:Master Degreeand DoctorDegree candidates


II. Scholarship coverage:shall be implemented in accordance with the Chinese Government Scholarship Standards, it covers the following:

-Tuition fee, application fee and campus accommodation;

- Monthly living allowance;

-Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Protection Scheme for International Students in China;

IV. Language Requirements: For English taught program, the applicants must have IELTS score of 6.5 and above/TOFEL score of 95 and above(except for applicants whose official language is English).Applicants without IELTS or TOFEL should provide other kinds of official certificate of proficiency in English.

VI Application

1.Application Qualification

(1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.

(2)Education background and age limit:

- Applicants for master degree programs must have bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35.

- Applicants for doctor degree programs must have master's degree and be under the age of 40.

(3)Applicants should not get any other scholarship by the Chinese Government or the Local Government of China


2.Application Materials

Applicants shall truthfully fill in the application form and provide the real application documents completely (application materials can be submitted by email tostudy@dlmu.edu.cn, which is official email address of Admissions Office of International Students’ Education Center of DMU).


(1)Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship: Applicants must finish the online application procedure at CSC Online Application System for International Students. Please go towww.campuschina.org, complete the required information and submit the required materials.[Type of Application: B Agency No.: 10151]

Note:Please do not make online application once more through DMU International Students Online Application System.


(2)Highest diploma:The applicant should submit a notarized copy of his/her highest diploma. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English. The notarized documents should be submitted in original copies.

Note:

If you are a fresh graduate, please submit an official proof of student status which must be marked with the expected graduation date and the time to obtain the prospective diploma.

If you are an employed person, apart from the degree certificate and transcripts, please also submit an original copy of your certificate of employment.


(3)Academic Transcripts: Notarized copies of all highest diploma transcripts should be submitted by the applicant. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English. The notarized documents should be submitted in original copies.


(4)A Study Plan or Research Proposal: A study plan or research proposal written in Chinese (for Chinese taught program)/English (for English taught program) shall be no fewer than 2000 words (for Chinese taught program)/2500 words (for English taught program). The study plan or research proposal should include educational background and work experience, results of academic research, research plan for graduate study, and personal goals and plans after graduation, etc.


(5)Recommendation letters: Applicants should provide two recommendation letters from former professors or associate professors.( the letters must have the signature of the related leader or official stamp from the related college).Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English. The notarized documents should be submitted in original copies.


(6)Pre-Admission Letter, which should be issued by International Students’Education Center of DMU


(7)Photocopy of “Foreigner Physical Examination Form”: The photocopy must be enclosed with one photo of the applicant, the original copy should be kept by the applicant. The form designated by Chinese quarantine authority can be downloaded fromhttp://www.campuschina.organd should be printed double-sided. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

(8)Photocopy of Valid Passport: The photocopies should include all the personal information pages of your passport.

(9)Photocopy of Language Level Certificate: For English taught program, the copies of TOEFL or IELTS (not applicable for the applicants whose official language is English) must be submitted. Applicants without TOEFL or IELTS should provide other kinds of official certificate, like certificate of teaching in English.

(10)The certificate of No Criminal Recordissued by related department in local country.

(11)Others:If an applicant has published any paper, been granted any award or scholarship, or has any other certificate of academic ability, the title, abstract and publication or any other valid documentation should be provided.

Note:The application documents will not be returned whether applicants are accepted or not.



VII Application Procedure

Step 2: Prepare for Application Materials---(till March)

(Note 1: please do not make online application through DMU International Students Online Application System)

(Note 2: the reference letter should be issued by theprofessors or associate professors from the university which applicants graduated, not the ones at DMU)


Step 3:Submit the Application Materialsthrough CSC portaland provide the Serial No. to email ofstudy@dlmu.edu.cn

(Note 1:the important personal information, including Passport Name/Passport No./Nationality/DOB/Contact phone etc., must be filled truly and correctly. Otherwise the application may be failed)

(Note 2:there are several useful information, like Email Address, Personal Phone Number, Contact Person in China, which can be the ways to take an interview by phone/to receive admission notice/to post admission materials)

(Note 3:Please useFirefox orInternet Explorer (11.0).Menu selection functions may not work in other browsers.


VIII.Admissions & Notice

1. International Students’Education Center of DMU is in charge of reviewing all the applications and arranging the tests or interviews for the applicants. The method and timetable of the tests or interviews will be noticed by official email ofstudy@dlmu.edu.cn

2. The Admissions papers (Admissions Notice and JW201 Form) shall be posted or sent by email around the end of July.

3. After getting the official papers or notice, the scholars should not modify their accepted institutions, neither their majors and study duration basically.
