IEC Teachers Attended the Academic Seminar of Preparatory Education for International Students in China

In order to advance the development of preparatory education for international students in China as well as enhance the communication and exchange between universities having preparatory education, on November 20th and 21st Preparatory Education College of Beijing Language and Culture University held the Academic Seminar of Preparatory Education for International Students in China. The director and two teachers of IEC Chinese Training Office attended the seminar.



On the evening of November 20th, the workshop for preparatory education was held in the Yifu Building of Beijing Language and Culture University. The deputy dean of Preparatory Education College of the university hosted the workshop. Distinguished guests who attended the workshop included professors of Beijing Language and Culture University - Lu Jianji and Cui Yonghua, deputy dean of International Education College of Tianjin University, deputy dean of International Education College of Northeastern Normal University, the dean assistant of International Education College of Tongji University, and other experts. During the workshop, professors and experts present discussed on issues of what and how to teach Chinese in preparatory education.

 
On the morning of 21st, some guests respectively addressed the seminar including the party secretary of Beijing Language and Culture University, International Student Affairs Office director of China Scholarship Council, dean of International Education College of Tianjin University, director of Chinese Test and Education Assessment Office of Beijing Language and Culture University. Also, Zhao Jinming, professor of Beijing Language and Culture University, and Li Quan, professor of Renmin University of China delivered academic reports around preparatory education. On the afternoon of 21st, the seminar was divided into four group meetings in which professors shared their academic achievements related to the following four aspects: macro-research on preparatory education; preparatory courses and textbooks; acquisition and assessment; country-based differentiated classes, culture and management.
