In this uncommon year of 2020, on the basic of having achieved strategic progress in the battle against COVID-19 with business and production gradually recovering, China’s two sessions was successfully held . Some important topics including putting people first and life first, seeking for new opportunities among challenges, getting overall victory in poverty alleviation etc. have input strong energy to economic and social development. The issuing of Civil Code of China marked that China has entered into a new era of law-based governance.
To help our international students have a better understanding of China's Two Sessions (the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People;'s Polical Consultative Conference (CPPCC)) as well as China’s legal systems, ISEC invited Prof. Yang Xiaonan and Prof. Xingfei from Law School of DMU to conduct online lecture on Hot Topics of China’s Two Sessions. The two experts mainly introduced China’s people’s congress system, China’s Civil Code, and National Security Act etc., introducing the development and progress of China’s democracy, legal system, and national security issues.
More than 50 international students around the globe attended the online lecture, after carefully listening to experts’presentation, the students actively asked questions and expressed opinions, which made the lecture meaningful and fruitful. Students are amazed by China putting people as the top concern and the energy of developing economy and society in a steady and stable way. They believed that, with wisdom and courage, China is making contribution to wold economy and the community with a shared future for mankind.
To provide better education and resources to international students, ISEC have been focusing on imputing contents related to hot topics of Chinese society into international students course system. This lecture has helped our international students to have a objective view of China’s social system, which put the students and school closer during this special time of COVID-19. ISEC will continuously invite more experts to conduct lectures or activities related to people’s main concerns and emphasizes, which will help to improve the quality of international students’education.
