The Chinese New Year of the Tiger is coming. On January 30, 2022, the 28thof the 12thlunar month, to make international students feel the atmosphere of the Chinese New Year and promote the interaction between teachers and students, International Students’ Education Center (ISEC) held activities with Chinese style to celebrate it under the premise of the epidemic prevention and control. The director of ISEC led the staff in Dalian and 18 students from 12 countries to have a happy gathering. They pasted Spring Festival couplets, ate dumplings to celebrate the Spring Festival.
With all the best wishes, Mr.Liu Shaoman, director of ISEC, delivered Spring Festival couplets to students living in Yihua NO.1 Apartment. He patiently introduced the meaning of the couplets and how to paste them, and sent the best Chinese New Year wishes on behalf of ISEC.
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, in the elaborately arranged Traditional Culture Classroom, Chinese teacher Zhang Mo introduced traditional customs and interesting stories about the Chinese New Year for everyone. Accompanied by the video and music of the Chinese New Year, the dumplings have been served. Considering the eating habits of international students, ISEC has prepared three kinds of dumplings with beef and green onion, beef and carrot, egg and shrimp with agaric. The Small dumplings are full of the Chinese New Year’s flavor and deep feelings for China.
The lottery which everyone has been looking forward began with laughter. After three rounds of drawing,participantsall got a variety of souvenirs representing the auspicious Year of the Tiger. Entrusted by the secretary and thepresidentof DMU, ISEC sent care and comforts to international students who stayed on campus for the Chinese New Year. They all get the prizes and the atmosphere was warm and peaceful. They all felt care and concern from DMUas well asthe warmth ofhome.At the moment of Chinese people celebrating the coming of new year, ISEC organizes series of activities to let international students feel the connotation and atmosphere of the festival as well as the warm and wishes from Chinese people. We wish all DMU international students anda happy and prosperous Year of the Tiger.
