The fruitful year of 2023 is about to pass, while the hopeful year of 2024 is about to arrive. On the afternoon of December 27th, the 2024 New Year's Gala of Teachers and Students at the International Students’ Education Center(ISEC) was held joyfully in the lobby of the first floor of the teaching building. More than 100 teachers and students gathered together to celebrate the New Year.
At the beginning of the event, Prof. Liu Shaoman, the director of ISEC, delivered a New Year's speech, reviewing the gains and growth of international students in the past year. He said that as the home of international students at DMU, the ISEC will continue to provide a platform and support for everyone, encouraging teachers and students to work together, achieve more progress in the new year, and make more positive contributions to promoting Sino foreign exchanges.
The party kicked off with the dance "Rock and Roll". The performances of Tang poetry, tea art, and Guzheng played by international students from various countries showcased the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture from a unique perspective; The songs and dances brought by international students from Djibouti, Laos, and North Korea vividly showcased the exotic customs of various countries; The energetic singing of popular Chinese and foreign songs brought an audio-visual feast to the audience. In the exciting and diverse performance segments, the event also set up three rounds of exciting lucky draw, with a total of 17 lucky students receiving exquisite prizes, increasing the fun and surprise of the event, and making the atmosphere on site even hotter. Finally, the celebration came to an end as teachers and students sang the song "Do you want to dance?"together. We bid farewell to 2023 with joyful dancing and enthusiastic cheers, welcoming the arrival of the new year.
The new year is like a blank book waiting for us to write with rich and colorful strokes. Everyone is the author of this book, whether happy or sad, they will be a part of the life story and will also make us better.
