To enhance international students’ awareness of safety and self-protection, help them better carry out their study life in China, and maintain a safe, stable, and healthy campus atmosphere, on the morning of October 24, 2025, the International Students’ Education Center invited Officer Jia Fei from Lingshui Police Station to give a safety education lecture to all international students studying in China. Over a hundred international students participated in the event.
Officer Jia first introduced the city of Dalian, and surrounding environment of the school to students, and then gave detailed explanations from three aspects: understanding and abiding by the law, self-protection, and mental health. The content covered various aspects of studying in China, including new media illegal crimes, criminal and public security case hazards, theft prevention, fraud prevention, disaster prevention, emergency measures, campus life, physical and mental health. During the lecture, Officer Jia vividly demonstrated to the students the importance of enhancing legal awareness, paying attention to personal safety, and promoting physical and mental health through rich real-life cases. At the same time, he demonstrated to the students the harmonious atmosphere of social security and stability in China, as well as the responsibility of the people's police to protect the safety of teachers, students, and society. He also wished the students to actively embrace the new life of studying in China and continuously achieve new results.
During the event, the International Students’ Education Center, with the support of the school's psychological center, conducted psychological screening for all international students studying in China.
Through this event, international students have gained a deeper understanding of the relevant laws and regulations for studying in China, greatly enhancing their awareness of fraud prevention, safety, mental health, and self-protection. The event also lays a solid foundation for further improving the quality of international students education and management in the future, and plays a positive role in the construction a international campus of DMU.
