“2018 International Training Workshop on Bei Dou Technology and Its Applications＂ held at DMU successfully

On September 3, the opening ceremony of “2018 International Training Workshop on Bei Dou Technology and Its Applications”, hosted by the National Remote Sensing Center of the Ministry of Science & Technology and sponsored by Dalian Maritime University, was held in the International Conference Hall of DMU. Mr. Wang Qi’an, the director of the National Remote Sensing Center of the Ministry of Science&Technology, Mr. Shui Min, the director of the Navigation and Space Exploration Department of the National Remote Sensing Center, Mr. Shi Chuang, the deputy-chief of the Experts Team of the National Key R&D Program, Prof. Sun Yuqing, President of DMU attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Prof. Zhao Youtao, vice president of DMU.
Professors of Information Science Technology College, related staff of International Students’ Education Center, all the participants of the “2018 International Training Workshop on Bei Dou Technology and Its Applications” and all the foreign students of ISEC attended this opening ceremony.
In the speech delivered by Mr. Wang Qi’a, he described the main purpose of the Beidou International Training Course is to enable wider regions and countries to have a deeper understanding of the application of Beidou system in their own countries, deepen their ties with relevant departments in China in the field of Beidou technology and application, expand new areas of cooperation, and promote the development of the application of Beidou in the developing countries. This training course has arranged more visits to practice, combining with the academic advantages of the contractor Dalian Maritime University, focusing on the development and application of Beidou Navigation System in the field of transportation: land, maritime and civil aviation. It is hoped that the participants will take this training course as an opportunity to enhance friendship, promote cooperation, build the 21st century Maritime Silk Road and share the results of regional research.
Prof. Sun Yuqing delivered the welcome speech to the cadets and guests from all over the world. He also thanked the National Remote Sensing Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology for its trust and support, and expressed congratulations on the formal opening of the “2018 International Training Workshop on Bei Dou Technology and Its Applications”. He pointed out that for a long time, the school has attached great importance to international cooperation and intercollegiate exchanges. At the same time, as the first Chinese government scholarship institutions, the school has trained a large number of senior international shipping talents who are knowledgeable and friendly to China, greatly enhancing China's voice and influence in the fields of transportation and maritime affairs. The training course has opened up new channels for the internationalization of schools. In order to undertake this training course well, the school has conducted in-depth research, carefully designed and carefully organized, striving to provide students with quality teaching services and logistics support, and striving to run the training course into a high-level, connotative, effective and influential learning feast. At the same time, it is also expected that the National Remote Sensing Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the school will continue to strengthen cooperation and broaden areas in the future to jointly build a bridge for high-level international personnel training.
Ms. GABRIELA POSSA from Brazil spoke as a cadet representative. She said she believed that the teaching content and practical arrangement of the “2018 International Training Workshop on Bei Dou Technology and Its Applications” would certainly benefit everyone. “I will certainly communicate with other students from different countries, learn more and share more, so that the knowledge and experience gained in the training course can be transmitted to my country” - she said.
After the ceremony, the leaders of this ceremony took a group photo with the cadets.
The trainees will spend more than 20 days training in our school. During the training, the experts invited by the National Remote Sensing Center and professors from Information Science Technology College of DMU will give lectures on professional knowledge. In order to enrich student’s life and fully understand Chinese traditional culture, the International Students’ Educational Center has arranged for students a series of courses on Chinese traditional culture.
