2017“Love China”Summer Camp for Overseas Chinese Descendants Wrapped up

From July 3 to 14, 2017 “Love China”Summer Camp for Overseas Chinese Descendants was held at Dalian Maritime University, which was initiated by All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, hosted by Liaoning and Dalian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, as well as jointly assisted by three parties including DMU International Education College, Dalian Intelligence Education Center, and Huashang News. More than 40 overseas teenagers from Chinese families in Sweden and US attended the camp.

Wang Daming, the vice president of Liaoning Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, hosted the ceremony, Zhao Youtao, the vice president of DMU addressed the audience, and Huang Gang, official of Dalian Municipal Party Committee, awarded the flag to the camp on behalf of the host.

In the 12 days, camp members at DMU learned Chinese and Chinese ancient civilization, and also participated in many cultural experience activities related to calligraphy, Chinese painting, Peking Opera, paper cutting, and folk music. Additionally, they got acquainted and exchanged with many local teenagers; visited DMU campus, History Exhibition, the planetarium, as well as the navigation simulator, getting an overall understanding of DMU’s long history, distinctive feature of navigation and strong academic atmosphere.
“Love China”summer camp is a cooperation project of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Office of Chinese Language Council International, with the aim of advocating Chinese culture, as well as assisting overseas Chinese descendants in Chinese learning, culture experience and cultural identity. It is also a hope that overseas Chinese teenagers could develop love to China and become cultural ambassadors linking China and the world.
