For international students and staff members, the year 2020 is quite a tough year. The whole winter vacation, spring semester were filled with pandemic numbers, online education, and control measures. Facing with the common challenge of all humankind,all teachers and students, no matter in or out of China, on or off campus, have closely connected and worked together and successfully accomplished all education work of spring semester of 2020.
Under the circumstance of pandemic being well controlled in China and all walks of life returning to normal, well international pandemic status remaining serious, the autumn semester of 2020 has come as scheduled. While actively following related requirements from school and upper lever departments regarding new semester and pandemic control, with the principle of safeguarding health and safety of all students and staff member and maintaining normal education progress of all students, the International Students’Education Center (ISEC) of DMU fully considers the practical situation of international students, made plan in advance,and have issued a series of methods regarding the registration, education and management of all international students in and out of China.
Before the semester officially started, all staff members of ISEC have begun working to get fully prepared for all related procedures, materials supplies, disinfection, emergency response, and personnel training etc. Everything is ready for welcoming all students and the new semester.
During the 1stweek of the semester, new and returning students approved to come to school have successfully finished registration at school under the guidance of ISEC teachers. All procedures including picking up, identity checking, health checking and registration at school were undertaken smoothly. Meanwhile, ISEC also conduct online registration for students that can not return to school to ensure that all international students can register online and offline at the same time. As a compulsory course for international students, the Chinese language class has accomplished replacement test in the 1stweek and will officially begin from 2ndweek.
While conducting strict pandemic control measures, ISEC also provides comfortable and clean study and living environment for international students, to let our students forget about the tiredness during the trip and feel at home.
Although wearing masks, the excitement and happiness of students returning to school were quite obvious. All staff members welcomed our students with biggest enthusiasm and everybody is repeating:“Long time no see!”“Welcome back!”“How are you?”
While the whole school is recovering offline education, ISEC is actively working for online education for students that can not return to school. There are still lots of work to be done and lots of problems to be solved at the beginning of the new semester, but we believe that under the guidance from school, and with the joint efforts from all our students and staff members of ISEC, all difficulties will be overcome,and the finally targets will be achieved.
