On the basic of Entrance Orientation of 2020 batch postgraduate international students being held successfully, the Entrance Orientation of 2020 batch undergraduate international students was held in the morning of September 25thby International Students’Education Center (ISEC).
Different from the previous event being held online and offline at the same time, this activity was organized offline as all undergraduate new international students have registered on campus. With staff member of ISEC meeting with students face to face, the distance was greatly shortened and the communication result was greatly improved.
During the event, staff members from different offices of ISEC introduced main information of DMU and ISEC, regulations about study and daily management, training plan of undergraduate programs, especially issues related to visa, passport and important laws, which help new students to have a clear and general understanding of the future study life in DMU. The teachers also encouraged new students to enhance learning Chinese language, make Chinese friends to better emerge themselves into Chinese culture and DMU life.
This time orientation has increased one special session: excellent international student representatives introducing study experience. Bachelor and master degree graduate from DMU, current PhD student of Law major PAK SIN HYOK attended the meeting and introduced his previous study methods to new students. PAK SIN HYOK also made a video of many DMU international alumni sending their best wishes to ISEC teachers and new students, introducing their study experience and advice which greatly moved all staff members of ISEC and gave courage and confidence to new students.
The whole event was quite fruitful with lots of useful information and guidance which help our new undergraduate international students have renewed understanding and thoughts of how to learn, what to learn and target of learning. We believe that, with the excellent example and guidance from senior international students, with the support and help from ISEC staff members and the school, our new international students with set up strong confidence and courage and pioneer from Xinhai lake to start the splendid journey of study in DMU.
