ISEC Culture Experience Activity - Trip to Xi’an

As the previous capital of 13 dynasties and the starting point of the ancient Silk Road as well as today’s key city alongside One Belt One Road, Xi’an attracts countless visitors every year. Aiming to have international students experience Chinese culture, ISEC organized a trip to Xi’an consisting of doctoral and outstanding students.

On November 15, students came to Hancheng Lake where they seemed to link themselves with the ancient Han Dynasty. The magnificent beauty amazed everyone and washed out journey tiredness.

On November 16, international students arrived at Lintong to visit Terra Cotta Warriors, one of the world eight wonders, and Huaqing Palace, the royal summer residence of Emperor Tang Xuan Zong. All the historical sites left students a deep impression.

Students on November 17 climbed on the ancient City Wall of Ming Dynasty which has been well protected throughout hundreds of years. Also, students went to Square Zhong Gu Lou, Square Da Yan Ta, and Street of Muslim where they met many hospitable locals.

On 18, students visited Shaanxi History Museum and Daming Palace Park. Shaanxi History Museum has 370000 pieces of historical relics ranging from the simple stone tools in the primitive society to various kinds of utilities in 1840.

Students watched one IMAX 3D movie titled Legend of Daming Palace which puts royal dances, games, huntings, and martial arts into the movie plots, making audiences get a comprehensive understanding of the prosperity of Tang Dynasty.

During this trip, international students enriched their knowledge of Tang Dynasty and acquired a better understanding of the profound and extensive Chinese culture. We believe this trip would become an unforgettable part in their life.
