Hosted by National Remote Sensing Center and organized by Dalian Maritime University, the closing ceremony of 2018 International Training Class of BDS Technology and Application was held at International Lecture Hall of DMU on September 21. Head of Navigation and Space Detection Division - Shui Min, DMU vice president - Zhao Youtao, and other leaders attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Bi Sheng, the dean of DMU School of Information and Science Technology. Attendees included section chiefs of International Cooperation and Exchange, International Students’ Education Center, and professors of School of Information and Science Technology, and all students of the Training Class.
Shui Min addressed audience that the Training Class aims to make more countries and areas get a deeper understanding of BDS local application, strengthen the connection with Chinese related sectors in BDS technology and application, expand cooperation areas, and improve BDS application in developing countries. Through the 20-day study period, students have acquired lots of information about BDS and have strengthened mutual exchange and cooperation, laying a solid foundation for future technology promotion.
Zhao Youtao congratulated students for successfully finishing the class, extended his gratitude to National Remote Sensing Center for its trust and support, and showed his respect to professors and faculty who worked hard for the class. He also mentioned that in order to ensure teaching quality and logistics support the university put great efforts in early research and careful arrangement. It was believed that through the BDS platform the upcoming cooperation would be better and better. Meanwhile, he hoped DMU and NRSC could maintain the cooperation relationship and work together in cultivating high-level international talents.
Associate professor of School of Information and Science Technology, Jiang Yi, who was in charge of the training class, introduced the oral defense result of Creativity Class.
Jing Dinan who is from Admission Office of International Students’ Education Center addressed all as the staff representative.
Then leaders awarded to students reward certificates of the Creativity Class oral defense and completion certificates.
Mr. Shao Shengwen (Chinese name) from Nigeria delivered a speech as the student representative. He expressed gratitude to NRSC for establishing the exchange platform and to DMU for creating the comfortable learning and living environment; also he would bring back what he learned from here to his country; he believed that BDS technology and application would make great contributions to the world technological development.

2018 International Training Class of BDS Technology and Application
In order to implement the spirit of the first China-ASEAN Science and Technology Ministers' Meeting in 2012 and promote the implementation of the China-ASEAN Science and Technology Partnership Plan, the National Remote Sensing Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Dalian Maritime University held 2018 International Training Class of BDS Technology and Application in Dalian Maritime University from September 2nd to 21st. The class provides ASEAN partner countries and other developing countries with technical training in Beidou satellite navigation system, geographic information system, remote sensing and space exploration, and promotes scientific and technological exchanges between the two sides.
