In order to help international students better understand the schedule and related requirements of thesis work in various majors and colleges, and enhance communication and interaction between international students and college supervisors, the International Students’ Education Center (ISEC) has launched the “Face to Face with Colleges" Series Lecture activity this semester, inviting supervisor representatives of different colleges to introduce the specific situation and precautions of the college thesis work to international students.
On the afternoon of April 19th, the first session of the “Face to Face with Colleges" Series Lecture was successfully held in Classroom 303 of ISEC. We invited Associate Professor Ms. Feng Lin from Shipping Economics and Management College to give a unique lecture to international students. Ms. Feng provided a detailed introduction to the time table, specific process, relevant requirements, and precautions for the graduate thesis of the college from proposal to defense. Based on her rich experience in international student teaching and thesis guidance, she provided many valuable and practical suggestions to the students. In addition to the Business Administration major, the lecture attracted more than 20 international graduate students from 8 majors including Logistics Engineering and Management, Law, Marine Engineering, and Computer Science and Technology etc. to sign up and participate. Students listened attentively, actively asked questions, and had ample communication and discussion with the teacher. The activity was successfully held in a happy and lively atmosphere, and students expressed their great benefits and gratitude to the teacher for pointing out the direction for everyone's next paper work.
ISEC will continue to hold the “Face to Face with Colleges" Series Lecture, inviting outstanding supervisor representatives from other colleges to answer questions and clarify doubts for international students, better starting students’ path of thesis writing, and promoting the academic atmosphere of "Study at DMU" .
