The International Students’ Education Center successfully launched offline psychological testing for international students in the spring semester of 2024

In response to the Ministry of Education's "Notice on Launching the First National Student Mental Health Promotion and Education Month", effectively utilizing professional resources to understand the mental health status of international students, timely preventing and intervening in psychological crises of international students, and improving the level of mental health work, the International Students’ Education Center(ISEC), with the support of the School Student Work Department's Psychological Center, organized offline psychological testing for international students on May 15th. Director Yan Jingyi, Ms.Liu Chaoyue of the Psychological Center went to the scene to guide the work and talked with director of ISEC Mr. Liu Shaoman to explore the future mental health work of international students.



Under the guidance of the psychological center, combined with the language and cultural differences of international students, this psychological assessment used the world's most famous and widely used professional examination scale - the Symptom Checklist-90. The activity was conducted in two sessions, morning and afternoon, according to the learning categories and class arrangements of international students. The staff explained in detail to the participating students the significance, process, method of filling out the psychological assessment form, and precautions, ensuring that the assessment work was carried out in an orderly manner.


ISEC has always regarded the mental health of international students as a key task, through regular heart to heart talks, psychological healing lectures, various cultural and sports activities, etc., timely understanding the psychological status of international students, enriching campus life, and improving their physical and mental health level. This psychological general testing work is another active attempt and exploration by the ISEC and the Psychological Center, pushing the professionalization and popularization of international students psychological health work to a new level. Both sides will take this as an opportunity to do a good job in the analysis and management of psychological testing data, psychological health intervention and counseling, and form a normalized and standardized mechanism to jointly safeguard the physical and mental health of students, lay a healthy foundation for creating a positive and upward campus atmosphere, and escort the path of studying at DMU from the "heart".
