The International Students’ Education Center held the "First Class of the School" series of activities — legal publicity and entrance orientation for international students
March 13, 2025

In order to help newly enrolled international students better adapt to studying and living in China, enhance their understanding and knowledge of Chinese laws and regulations, especially the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China, the Public Security Administration Punishment Law of the People's Republic of China, and avoid potential risks of illegal and irregular activities, the International Students Education Center invited four police officers, including Yuan Lizhi from the Lingshui Police Station of the High tech Park Branch of Dalian Public Security Bureau and the resident police officers of the police station, to the school on March 12th to conduct legal publicity and safety education for international students. More than 30 international students participated in the activity.

During the event, police officers explained in detail the laws, regulations, and safety precautions that international students need to pay attention to during their study and life in China, based on real cases. The content covered passport and visa validity management, registration of residence changes, accommodation registration, illegal employment, staying away from drugs, and preventing telecommunications fraud. They emphasized further reminders on issues that are easily overlooked and prone to errors in daily life. In the prevention of telecommunications fraud, the police officers carefully prepared 50 test questions, and through random interactive Q&A, mobilized the enthusiasm of students to participate and infused anti fraud awareness into their minds and hearts.

After the legal publicity session, the International Students Education Center distributed the latest version of the "Dalian Maritime University International Student Handbook" (hereinafter referred to as the handbook) carefully compiled by the center to students. As a compilation of rules and regulations specially designed for international students based on years of work experience, the new version of the handbook covers relevant laws and regulations, rules and regulations, medical insurance, common sense of life, and other content related to studying in China. It can provide comprehensive institutional references and legal basis for international students in various aspects such as studying, living, and traveling in China. It will serve as a reference book for studying and living in Dalian, guiding students to successfully complete their studies in China.

This activity has provided students with a deeper understanding of the laws, regulations, and safety knowledge related to studying in China. They have also acquired more skills in preventing online fraud in the new era, enhancing their legal awareness and self-protection abilities. The International Students Education Center has always prioritized the safety of teachers and students, continuously increasing communication and cooperation with departments such as the Dalian Public Security Bureau and the School Security Office. Through various forms of activities such as legal lectures and safety drills, the center regularly enhances safety education for international students studying in China, providing strong support for safeguarding a safe campus.
