To promote academic exchange and collaboration in the field of transportation, infuse youth wisdom, and deepen international students' understanding of China's cutting-edge technologies, the "Experiencing China - Intelligent Rail Transit" International Student Academic Conference, hosted by the China Scholarship Council and organized by Central South University was held in Changsha from June 12th to 13th, 2025.
Focusing on the research achievements of China's transportation technology, the academic activity carried out academic discussions and exchanges around the three themes of "the Internationalization of the Rail Transit Standards in the Belt and Road Initiative", "Application of AI in Traffic Planning and Safety Management", and "Intelligent Traffic Emergency Management System for Unexpected Events". Nearly 100 outstanding international student representatives from 14 universities, including Southeast University, Tongji University, Beihang University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Southwest Jiaotong University, Wuhan University of Technology, Central South University, Dalian Maritime University(DMU) etc. attended the event. DMU international students, REHMAN ZIA UR, master's student majoring in Information and Communication Engineering from Pakistan, and ALI ATHAR, master's student majoring in Software Engineering from Pakistan, were invited to participate in the event.
At the meeting, 16 international students gave presentations on artificial intelligence practices, IOT applications, and highway safety measures, delving into cutting-edge knowledge in the field of transportation. DMU international student REHMAN ZIA UR presented an academic report titled "The Practical of Artificial Intelligence in Transportation Planning and Safety Management", detailing the application of artificial intelligence in fields such as traffic management, traffic safety, and traffic planning, as well as the impact of social ethics on transportation artificial intelligence. The report emphasized the unlimited potential of artificial intelligence in innovative development in the transportation field in the future. Its rich research data, rigorous computational analysis, and forward-looking research perspective have attracted widespread attention and heated discussions among the attending teachers and students, further inspiring the academic enthusiasm and responsibility of young students to focus on artificial intelligence innovation and promote sustainable development of transportation.
During the event, international students also visited the National Engineering Laboratory of High-speed Railway Construction Technology of Central South University, the High-speed Train Research Center of Central South University, and Orange Island, experiencing firsthand the outstanding achievements of Chinese universities in promoting technological innovation in transportation development, and gaining a richer and more comprehensive understanding of Hunan culture and modern technological development.s.
Through this event, international students from various universities actively exchanged and showcased the achievements of "Studying in China".
