On October 23rd, during the traditional Chinese festival "Double Ninth Festival", in order to enhance international students' understanding of traditional Chinese culture and personally experience Dalian's cultural customs, the Immigration Service Center of the Dalian Free Trade Zone launched a Double Ninth Festival hiking activity. More than ten DMU international students from eight countries including Tanzania, Russia, and Togo etc. participated in this event.
With excitement, the students set off early and took a bus to the Dahei Mountain Scenic Area. On the way, Officer Si Wei from the Immigration Service Center of Dalian Free Trade Zone gave a detailed account of the origin, customs, and allusions of the Double Ninth Festival, as well as an introduction to Dahei Mountain and precautions for mountaineering. She also vividly explained and led everyone to read the famous poem "Memories of Shandong Brothers on September 9th" by Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei, allowing students to deeply feel the atmosphere of the Double Ninth Festival.
Upon arriving at Dahei Mountain, known as the "No.1 Scenic Area in Liaonan", students were attracted by its magnificent momentum and picturesque scenery, and were full of confidence in reaching the mountaintop. Along the way, everyone walked briskly, admiring the crisscrossing mountains, towering stone peaks, and colorful jungles. They also repeatedly recited 'Memories of Shandong Brothers on September 9th', imagining the scene of ancient people climbing high and longing for their loved ones in the golden autumn season. Amidst the laughter and cheers, everyone encouraged and helped each other, with exceptionally light and powerful footsteps, students ultimately climbed to the top of the mountain successfully. At this moment, diverse civilizations, ancient and modern times, and different languages resonate harmoniously in this vast nature.
Subsequently, the students visited the Dalian Free Trade Zone Immigration Service Center. The staff provided a detailed introduction to the policies related to employment and entrepreneurship for international graduates, encouraging them to develop in Dalian after graduation and play a more important role in promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries in various fields. The students all showed strong interest and asked questions to further understand the relevant details.
This event not only gave international students a firsthand experience of the story of Chongyang's ascent to the heights and enhanced their understanding of traditional Chinese culture, but also provided them with the opportunity to visit the Immigration Service Center in the Dalian Free Trade Zone and have face-to-face exchanges with officers to understand the policies related to employment and entrepreneurship for international graduates, laying a foundation for further promoting Sino foreign exchange and cooperation. We believe there will be more diverse and colorful activities in the future to help everyone broaden their horizons, engage in broader fields, and become ambassadors of friendship for cultural exchanges and international talents to promote cooperation.
