On the afternoon of April 24th, the 7th Appreciate at DMU - Cross Cultural Exchange Series Activity of the 2023-2024 Academic Year of the International Students’ Education Center was successfully held in the activity room on the first floor of Yihua Second Apartment. This event received strong support from the Navigation College, and more than 30 Chinese and foreign students participated together.

The theme of this event is "Maritime Culture". The students from the Navigation College were dressed in uniforms, showcasing the vibrant and distinctive style of DMU young people It has also aroused strong interest among international students, and everyone quickly got to know each other.

The activity is divided into three parts: group discussion, maritime knowledge quizzes, and talent display. Through group discussions, students learned about the types and components of ships, the rivers and ports of various countries, as well as famous navigators and sailing stories. During the knowledge quiz session, Chinese and foreign students took turns asking questions, allowing international students to have a deeper understanding of the development history of DMU, and also enabled Chinese students to have a deeper understanding of the history and culture of countries such as Tanzania and Pakistan. Finally, the students showcased their talents and sang the school anthem together, pushing the atmosphere to a climax.

This event not only strengthened the exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign students, but also further deepened everyone's understanding of maritime culture. We believe that in the daily teaching and extracurricular activities of the future, Chinese and foreign students at DMU will continuously enhance their awareness and mission of the ocean, explore the cultural connotations and technological charm in maritime stories, deeply understand the spiritual essence of "Learning from all rivers and benefiting the world", and play the role of youth in building a shared ocean destiny.
