On April 12, 2024, the 7th "My Beautiful Encounter with China" International Student Series Awards Ceremony and the 2024 Series Event Release Ceremony were successfully held in Beijing, guided by the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Ministry of Education and hosted by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange(CSCSE) of the Ministry of Education. About 180 people including leaders and guests from the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange of the Ministry of Education, People's Daily, the Embassy of Thailand in China, the Management Committee of the China Shanghai Cooperation Organization Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone, award-winning students and representatives of universities, officials from the Ministry of Education of relevant embassies in China, and representatives of relevant cooperative institutions attended the ceremony.

This competition attracted over 800 international students to participate in the competition through articles and videos, and nearly a hundred excellent articles and short videos were selected. Among them, DMU Tanzanian doctoral student MAIRUSYA LAWRENT GORDON and master's student TSEREGJAV DULAMJAV from Mongolia have respectively won the Excellent Essay Award and the Excellent Short Video Award, Ms. Cheng Yuting and Ms. Zhang Yu of ISEC respectively won the Excellent Guidance Teacher Award, and DMU has been awarded the "Excellent Organization Award".

Awards of Dalian Maritime University in the 7th "My Beautiful Encounter with China" Essay and Short Video Competition

During the event, MAIRUSYA LAWRENT GORDON was invited to come on stage as an award-winning representative to receive the award. DMU Togolese doctoral student YOUA NAROU was invited to perform the original work "Dream Road" with the theme of "the Belt and Road" of the "Cloud" choir group studying in China, together with more than 10 students from other universities, to show the story of international youth who met, grew up together and imagined the future in China.

"My Beautiful Encounter with China" aims to enrich the experience of international students in China and enhance youth exchanges among countries. Since its establishment in 2017, it has attracted more than 6000 international students from hundreds of countries and regions to actively participate. DMU has always attached great importance to this activity and actively encouraged international students to participate in it. Five international students have won awards, and other awards such as "Excellent Guidance Teacher" and "Excellent Organization Award" were also issued to DMU multiple times. Five international students have also participated in the "Cloud" choir group of international students in China. The DMU teachers and international students have been constantly telling the touching stories of "studying at DMU" in the form of essays and short videos, echoing the beautiful melody of "study in China". It is believed that in the future, more DMU international students will participate in cultural exchanges on the platform of CSCSE, jointly writing the beautiful story of encountering with China, and creating a new future of high-quality development of the "the Belt and Road".
